- Sharing, scheduling and success are all ways of staying motivated! Sharing your goals with others is about ownership and accountability. Let your friends and family know what your goals are so they can be positive and supportive. Scheduling is about making the time for exercise or meal planning. Success is about following through and reaping the benefits of achieving your goals i.e. losing weight, running in a 5k or climbing Mount Everest.
- Motivation requires you to stay and think positively! You must surround yourself with people of like minds or those who will provide continuous support. Also, make sure that your goals are realistic. Motivation declines once we no longer think that our goal is even possible. If your goal was originally set for you to run a 26 mile marathon and you never ran in a 5k, you may want to change your goal to be more realistic.
- Attitude is so important when pursuing any goal in life! Maintaining a positive attitude requires enthusiasm, purpose, focus, humor, visualizing your success and surrounding yourself with positive people. With the right attitude anything is possible!
- Routine is imperative to maintain a successful and healthy lifestyle! Getting the right amount of sleep each night, exercising every morning just like you would brush your teeth, eating a healthy breakfast are all part of keeping routine in your life.
- Track your goals by keeping a journal. Take a minute out of your day to jot down your workout or how you felt before and after the workout. Make a note of what may or may not be working so that you can make changes if necessary. Keeping a journal will help monitor your progress, make you accountable and keep you motivated!
